Focusing with others on the art of the possible.

Sonia Mangan
Charity, Care and Health Consultant

I work with values-driven organisations and leaders to “help good people do good things, better.” Drawing on decades of experience in the VCSE and health/social care arena, I offer support in three main areas

Two women are looking into a bag, one holding a phone, in a bright room with large windows.

I provide one-on-one leadership mentoring for CEOs and aspiring change-makers. My style is warm, values-led and emotionally intelligent, I work with you using a blend of coaching, strategic challenge and collaborative problem-solving.

A woman and an elderly man are having a conversation in a modern office with large windows showing city buildings outside. The woman is standing with her hands in her pockets, looking down at the seated man, who is listening with crossed arms.

I help organisations find clarity and direction through facilitated strategy sessions and longer-term planning support. This can mean working with your board and team to co-create a compelling vision, define goals and map out concrete plans to achieve them.

Sometimes, busy leaders need an outside eye to make sense of the bigger picture. I offer research and insight services to help you understand your sector and make informed decisions.

Caring for others has never felt like a choice. It has always been part of my life. As a child, I helped care for my younger brother and watched my mum support elderly relatives.

That early exposure to empathy and service shaped who I am. Even when my career path took unexpected turns, from a smoke-filled betting shop to hospital wards and charity boardrooms, the thread running through it all has stayed the same: I have been, and always will be, a carer at heart.

My story.

A woman with curly hair and glasses, dressed in a white shirt and dark jacket, is sitting at a table in front of a large window with a cityscape background. A water bottle is on the table beside her.

“Caring for others has never felt like a choice. It has always been part of my life.”

Partners I’m working with

“Sonia supported me during a significant period of organisational transition, both as a mentor and as interim Head of Partnerships at Southdown. In both roles, she brought professionalism, sector and personal insight, warmth, and clarity. As a mentor, she helped me step back, reflect, and lead more intentionally with a newly formed top-team. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.”
